Linen steals the limelight
Published in - Apparel Resources “The Indian market has a strong affinity towards luxury goods and this has helped Linen Trail grow its base of customers. Over the past one year, we have seen a 15X growth through our website LinenTrail.com. The change in consumer behaviour (the shift to online shopping) post-COVID is one the primary reasons for the spike of growth in the category coupled with the affinity for premium/luxury goods and sustainability in the Indian market.” Reshma too agreed on the luxe factor of linen and added, “In India, the late Wendell Rodricks, the fashion guru from Goa gave his unmistakable stamp to linen creating truly chic resortwear with it since it is a sustainable fabric which uses minimal water usage. Linen is super international as quality has a price and linen is luxe. Also naturally woven fabrics do command a premium for their inherent quality and strength of fabric, especially over cotton. It allows for relaxed fits, fuss free outfits, jackets (without lining) with its weather- friendly, soft fabrics as it mixes comfort with chic effortlessly”. Original Article

Reshma Dalal Explains Why Demand For Sustainable Fashion Has Driven Clothing Care
Publisher: THE PINK JOURNEY Sustainability has raised more attention now than ever, mainly due to the worldwide pandemic and consistent cultural changes even before that. Reshma Dalal founder of tara and i shares how tara and i has dived deep into sustainability and garment care. What does it mean to take care of clothes in a sustainable way? Having truly sustainable garment care practices starts from being mindful of the materials used while shopping, considering how long they would last, to washing it, storing it, and finally mending and disposing it. In this life cycle of the garment, we’ve to be a little more attentive than we may be at present, at every stage of the cycle. It all starts from the first step – shopping. If you buy sustainably, it remains sustainable. Which means, the clothes will automatically last longer than the fast fashion garments in your wardrobe. Capitalizing on this first step, Reshma Dalal emphasizes on the need to buy not only sustainable materials but also styles and designs that would transcend seasons. Her label, tara and i, works on making everyday essentials effortless and joyous, with garments that you can throw on in a jiffy and yet feel great in. Moreover, upcycling and a zero waste policy are employed at tara and i. Dalal tells us, “We make our tags from the leftover trimmings. It sometimes is also transformed to a belt, an accessory or a piece of craft. We don’t use plastic and we’re trying to steer towards more certified fabrics.” An example of this would be the Joy collection by tara and i where only Tencel was used which is sustainable, natural and bio-degradable. “We’re trying to cover all areas of production to come out as a sustainable label. So, when we say care for your garment, it can easily be done once you step into the sustainable garment cycle.” As a label, tara and i strives to continuously undertake this responsibility to be a part of the sustainable fashion movement. Perhaps it’s us who’re left to do our part as a conscious consumer.

PUBLISHER: Zoom TV Want to wear your pre-owned outfits differently? If yes, here are some expert tips to mix and match with sheer aplomb this season. No matter how many clothes you own, and no matter how many outfits you buy, there's always a chance that you'll be bored of them at some point. Sometimes, it's because you are tired of repeating the same clothes and sometimes, it's because you don't experiment with its styling as much as you should. Many outfits, can turn out completely different if you pay heed to style it right. This also applies to pairing your beloved clothes with different things. For instance, the white shirt that you always don atop your blue denim can go perfectly well with a long skirt as well. Or that comfy top you can't get enough of at home can also be worn with gorgeous new shorts. If you want more tips on how to mix and match this season, so even your old outfits don't go out of style, you've arrived at the right place. Reshma Dalal of tara and I is of the view that fashion is all about self-expression and the beauty of self-expression is that it is always original. She suggests fashion enthusiasts to invest in sharp, contemporary, elevated classics that are versatile, can transcend seasons, and can be worn over the years. "How you style yourself, can give you a totally different look," she said. Reshma also opened up about why summer layering is the key to dressing this season. "Given our warm outdoors in the summer and our chill-blasted cars and offices, summer layering is a practical solution to adjust to change in extreme temperatures," she explained. She also listed a few easy and doable ways you can mix and match without spending a penny: Given the more ‘casual environs,’ we work in today, you can pair a solid colour T over a pair of formal trousers and sneakers. A crisp white shirt with a printed skirt could be both sleek and fun or an oversized shirt over a bustier top or camisole. Colour block is a great trend for summer. Pair a canary yellow top with a blue skirt, and it screams fresh, bright, and summer. Resort to your basic wardrobe and create a new look simply by donning a statement belt. For instance, take a simple shirt dress and elevate the look with a bold belt. If one wants to grab cocktails post-work, you can layer your T-shirt and trousers or jeans with a throw-over like a shrug or bolero or a casual jacket. The idea is to dress down the formal and dress up the casual, this would give a mix that is incredibly chic and sharp.

Tara and I's latest Tutu collection reflects romanticism and playfulness
Publisher - Indian Express Indulge The Mumbai-based prêt-a-porter label with a design vocabulary of casual chic and elevated classics borrows ideas from the dance of the ballerina. Full of youthfulness and exuberance, Tara & I’s latest edit is inspired by a certain coziness that comes from quiet mornings and the softness of an early ballet class, where excited girls turn into fairies, nymphs and queens. The Mumbai-based prêt-a-porter label with a design vocabulary of casual chic and elevated classics borrows ideas from the dance of the ballerina, where romanticism and playfulness take centre stage. The prints in the collection capture the motifs of the tutu and ballet ribbons to create a beautiful romance with delicate movements. It uses ethically sourced, natural, biodegradable fabrics like high-twist cotton voile and cotton tencel to add fluidity and effortlessness to every piece. Look out for bubble tops and dresses, layered skirts, fit ‘n flare, tiered and ruffled dresses, playsuits and jumpsuits come alive in lush hues of blush, plum, crème and pearl grey. Sheer printed fabrics, with intricate details like mini-ruffles and gathers, reflects the cheerful lightheartedness of Spring.
